6 Months Old and Other News

Ian is now 6 months old, weighs 19 pounds, 13 ounces and is 27 inches long. He has finally pasted Soren in weight, but not length. Soren was 19 pounds, 6 ounces and 27 3/4 inches long at 6 months. I had Ian's 6 months pictures taken Sunday and I can't wait for you to see them. I will let you know when you can view them on line. He has also cut his first tooth. It is to the left of where his middle ones will be on top.

We bought Soren a new bike! I know it looks a little big, but he just looked plain silly on the next size down! A rare moment of playing together!

Summer's Coming

With summer around the corner we are trying to enjoy as many Spring days outside as possible! Soren's favorite play place seems to be in the back of the truck. It's funny to me to have the whole yard to run around in and he chooses the truck! Abigail loves the wagon.
She's got this thing figured out! Just sit back and enjoy the ride!
Much to my dislike, this is her favorite "toy." It is the snake that we put in the flower bed to try to discourage the birds and rabbits from eating our strawberries! It didn't work, but Abigail thought it was great!

More Stories

Last Wednesday night as we were walking out of church, Soren saw a motorcycle in the parking lot and was making lots of comments about it. I said to Ivy, "I wonder whose that is?" Soren responded in all seriousness, "I think it's mine." As I set him in his car seat I said, "that's not yours." Again, as sincere as could be he says "Yes it is. Daddy, could you put my motorcycle in the back of the car please?"

Every night we say prayers together as a family as we all sit on one of the children's beds. Wednesday night afterwards as I was laying down next to Abigail, she asked if she could pray. I helped her through the prayer as she repeated it back in her own brand of broken English (not sure where she is from). After that she handed me her teddy bear and said "Teddy pray!" I replied, "Teddy doesn't need to pray." "Teddy pray!" she insisted. I told her that she could help him pray. Abigail set the teddy bear on her belly facing her, held both hands and said, "Dear Jesus, help me mommy obey, (SMACK), Amen!" The smack was Abigail slapping the teddy bear in the face. [FYI, we never strike the children in the face, only on the bottom or on the hand.]

I could write a book of the funny things Abigail says, only I can't understand what she is saying most of the time. She sure thinks it is funny though.

Family Picture

What at happy baby! We are so very blessed! Our children sure do love their daddy!
Do you know how hard it is to get 3 children to sit still long enough just to snap a picture? And to add to the challenge, the one in the middle is just balanced for a moment!
It sure is worth the challenge to try though.

More Children's Museum

I wish I could have captured everything about the museum in pictures, but there was so much. I don't want to over do it so here are just a few more. If you live in this area I would say that it would definitely be worth your time and money. Even though everything about it is educational, the kids just think it is a big play room!

Both Soren and Abigail loved the ball pit. I had a bit of difficulty getting good pictures in here because Ian was sleeping in his stroller and I couldn't move very far.

The water area was definitely the favorite part! You just couldn't worry about them getting wet.

As I look through the pictures I realize even more of how much I just can't do justice for the whole experience. I really hope that we get to go back some time.

The Children's Museum

At the beginning of April we went with some friends to the Cincinnati Children's Museum. It was Awesome! If we lived a little closer I would definately buy annual passes and we would go all the time! I don't think the kids would ever tire of it.
There was a HUGE tree house that Soren, Abigail, AND Tim enjoyed.

This expression was priceless. There was also a play area. I am realizing that Abigail is quite fond of slides. The sand table was Soren's favorite place here.

The Hair Cut

Well I FINALLY cut Soren's hair. I suppose I should say "we" cut his hair because it was a joint effort. While he will be still if someone else is cutting his hair, there were no still moments for mommy and daddy. It was like hitting a moving target.
Before

During (Abigail enjoyed supervising) After - Doesn't he look great!!
What a load off!

Aunt Janet's House

I am such a slacker. These are the last of the TN pictures I will post. The kids and I spent one day at Aunt Janet's house. It was such a beautiful day that we spent most of it outside.
Soren, being my cautious one, not only found the motorcycle in the garage to play with, but found the bike helment as well.
Now Abigail on the other hand, that's a whole different story! This was just plain dangerous to all who happened to be around, including herself!
We also celebrated Sam's 2nd Birthday!What a mess!
Ian was just glad to finally be home!

More pictures from TN

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to visit family in TN.
It is very difficult to get a picture or Soren these days because he always makes a cheesy face when he sees the camera.I don't know who in their right mind gave Abigail a chocolate marshmallow egg!! (Thanks Grandmommy:) !
Abigail and Uncle Ira reading a story.
